Endocrine system - Thyroid Gland 1
Posted in 2013
The thyroid gland is an endocrine gland in your neck. It makes two hormones that are secreted into the blood: thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). These hormones are necessary for all the cells in your body to work normally.
Thyroid disorders are very common and tend mainly to occur in women, although anybody - men, teenagers, children and babies, too - can be affected. About one in 20 people has some kind of thyroid disorder, which may be temporary or permanent.
The thyroid gland lies in the front of your neck in a position just below your Adam’s apple. It is made up of two lobes - the right lobe and the left lobe, each about the size of a plum cut in half - and these two lobes are joined by a small bridge of thyroid tissue called the isthmus. The two lobes lie on either side of your wind-pipe.
The thyroid gland is located in the lower front part of the neck. It produces thyroid hormones that regulate the body's metabolism. It also plays a role in bone growth and development of the brain and nervous system in children. The pituitary gland controls the release of thyroid hormones. Thyroid hormones also help maintain normal blood pressure , heart rate, digestion, muscle tone, and reproductive functions.
My advise
1... It is the system which will regulate the activity of various cells or organs
2... The major glands of endocrine system are the hypothalamus, pituitary, thyroid, parathyroids, adrenals, pineal body, and the reproductive organs (ovaries and testes). The pancreas is also a part of this system; it has a role in hormone production as well as in digestion.
3... These hormones are chemical messengers created by our body
4.. They transfer the messages of various glands to coordinate with one another.
5... We are discussing on reproductive organs how they protect and regulate functions of these organs. All of you know about reproductive organs
6... Protect this system with your healthy habits, healthy life style, healthy food etc.. to avoid various health problems caused and particularly on reproductive system

7.. Thyroid Gland is important gland situated in the neck. It plays the role in bone growth up to young age then it plays to protect entire bone system. In children it plays the role to develop brain cells and nervous system.
